I will teach you how to use your GARMIN to coach yourself!

Traditional online run coaching is antiquated.

Pre-designed training plans, even though they may be “custom”, have little value as they can’t adapt to the daily changes in an athlete’s schedule, life and physiological status. 

Today’s state of the art running watches have the ability to constantly monitor an athlete’s physiological status, recent training activity and recovery 24/7 and recommend the optimal workout based on these factors every day.

Therefore designing and managing a training plan is not the best use of a coach’s time nor will it result in the most effective program for an athlete.

Garmin Unproductive Training Status

I will teach you how to use your GARMIN to coach yourself. 

Though every athlete is different, the following aspects are foundational to my program and what I will work to achieve with all athletes:

  • Becoming acquainted with your GARMIN’s functionality and building an understanding of the information it provides.
  • Using GARMIN to calibrate your baselines of fitness, rest and perceived effort in order to properly execute a training plan and evaluate progress.
  • Defining your running goals and determining which of GARMIN’s features will best help you achieve those goals.
  • Developing a plan to work towards your goals using GARMIN to guide and monitor your progress.
  • Embarking on the training plan, monitoring your progress towards your goals and adjusting the strategy or methodology as needed.
Once you have mastered this approach you will be able to enjoy continuous progression in your fitness and pursue whatever running goals you choose on an ongoing basis

What types or runners do you work with?

The functionality of a GARMIN watch makes it equally capable of helping runners of all types. 

Whether you are looking to finish your first 5K, or achieve a new personal best time in the marathon, the same training fundamentals of consistency, variety and recovery apply to all distances.

I’ll work with you to adapt how you use your GARMIN to your specific situation and goals.

How long does the program last?

This will be up to you.

Everyone I work with is at a different stage in their running journey. My goal is to get you to the point where you are confident in your ability to use your GARMIN to achieve your running goals on your own. I will work with you on an ongoing basis until you feel you’re ready. If you realize you still need my help afterward I’m always available.

How do you charge?

I charge a flat monthly fee for my coaching services.

Once we start working together we’ll schedule regular video calls to discuss your progress, strategy, address any questions and troubleshoot any frustrations you are facing. In between our regularly scheduled calls you are free to reach out to me via email at any time and I will get back to you within a day. If necessary I’ll be happy to jump on a video call in between our regularly scheduled meetings to talk through any issues or questions.
