Using Garmin’s Load Focus Report

If you’re like me you probably aren’t always following a training plan. If so, using the Load Focus report in the Training Status glance on #garmin Forerunners can be an easy way to make sure you’re keeping your training varied (or see if you’re not).

How this screen works:

-The top/pink progress bar represents your anaerobic training load (sprints and/or intervals)
-The middle/orange bar represents your high aerobic training load (tempo runs)
-The bottom/blue bar represents your low aerobic training load (base miles)
-The dotted rectangles represents the optimal range. You want the the progress to be somewhere in the rectangle for each category.

This photo shows that I’m not doing enough anaerobic work and a bit too much high aerobic work. Time to swap the next tempo run for some sprints.

You can access this screen via the Training Status glance and then scrolling down two clicks.
